Smart Girls

Well, we thought we were SO smart moving from the old hotel to escape the Muslim prayers from the Mosque across the street that were broadcast over loud speakers at 3AM, 9AM, 4PM, 6PM and 9PM. So Miss Smartie Pants #1 (lcm) goes on the Internet and finds a place in the Old City. "Wow" says Smartie Pants #2 (tll)..."let's go!" So we pack up...drag our bags over 1km of cobble stones to come to an oasis in the middle of the 100 degree heat. What a find!!....an old Austrian embassy with beautiful gardens, super clean rooms, and elegance...plus a bar!! Yea!!...it's wine time!! Anyway, we go on a tour of the Old City (more about that later) and we are telling our guide about our the hotel drama from yesterday/last night. He kinda smiles and says..."well, you know, your new hotel is in the Muslim quarter." And we are like..."well yeah, but they don't do that loudspeaker thing here in the Old City do they?" And he just laughs. We just experienced our first "calling"...twice as loud as last night!!
